About Z-Text

Privacy-first messaging on the BitcoinZ blockchain

Our mission

We believe privacy is a fundamental human right — not a premium feature, not a marketing slogan, and not something to be traded away for convenience. Every conversation, every password, every note you write deserves to stay yours.

Z-Text exists to make private communication the default, not the exception. We build censorship-resistant messaging on top of the BitcoinZ blockchain so that no company, no government, and no third party can read, block, or delete what you send. Your keys, your messages, your control.

What we build

Z-Text is a suite of open-source tools designed around a single principle: the service provider should never be able to see your data. Everything we ship is either end-to-end encrypted, shielded on-chain, or both.

  • A ZkSNARKs-shielded messenger that sends messages as private blockchain transactions — the network sees traffic, but no one can read the content, sender, or recipient.
  • A built-in BitcoinZ wallet so you can send, receive, and hold BTCZ without trusting a custodian or an exchange.
  • A decentralized password manager whose encrypted vault lives on-chain, not on our servers. Only you hold the keys to decrypt it.

All of our client code is open source. Anyone can audit it, fork it, or run it. We have nothing to hide, and neither should the tools you trust with your most sensitive communication.

Why BitcoinZ

We chose BitcoinZ because its values match ours. BitcoinZ is a community-driven cryptocurrency with no premine, no ICO, and no insider allocation — every coin in existence was mined fairly by the community. That matters to us, because a network owned by no one cannot be captured by anyone.

On the technical side, BitcoinZ supports ZkSNARKs, the zero-knowledge proof system that makes fully shielded transactions possible. It is also resistant to currently known quantum attacks on the protocol layer, giving our users longer-term protection than chains built purely on transparent address models. A community-owned, privacy-capable chain is exactly the foundation a privacy product needs.

The team

Z-Text Ltd is a small, distributed privacy-engineering team with backgrounds in cryptography, blockchain infrastructure, and secure application design. We stay intentionally lean so we can ship carefully, audit our own work, and avoid the kind of organizational bloat that leads to rushed features and weak defaults. We don't publish individual team bios: our work speaks for itself, and the code is public.

Our values

Every product decision at Z-Text passes through the same filter: does this preserve user sovereignty, or does it erode it? The answers shape what we refuse to do:

  • No phone numbers. No email addresses. No real-name requirements.
  • No analytics, no tracking pixels, no behavioral telemetry.
  • No central servers that hold readable message content.
  • No backdoors, no "lawful intercept" hooks, no master keys.
  • No custody of user funds — private keys live on the user's device.

If a feature can't be built without compromising these, we don't build it. That's the entire product philosophy.

BitcoinZ (BTCZ)
Community-driven, no-premine cryptocurrency with ZkSNARKs shielded transactions, launched 2017. Launch announcement.
Equihash
Memory-hard proof-of-work algorithm used by BitcoinZ consensus; it is part of the network security model, not a standalone post-quantum guarantee. Reference.
